At the Law Offices of Randy Collins we strongly believe that continuing education and giving back to the legal community is the responsibility of every successful criminal defense law firm. As attorneys ourselves, we’ve placed great value on our own education when making sacrifices on our paths to and beyond law school. If you intend to do the same, we want to help.
Having always been firm advocates of higher learning, we are proud to give back to those aspiring to become lawyers through the Law Offices of Randy Collins Scholarship. This law school scholarship opportunity is awarded to one student each year based on verifiable merit.

Frank was driving his vehicle at night on an unlit winding road when, without slowing his vehicle, struck a man who was running on the shoulder of the road adjacent to a baseball field.
The posted speed limit for the road was 50 miles per hour.
The officer arrived at the scene of the accident 15 minutes later and found Frank sitting in his car in the field. Without giving Frank any Miranda warnings, the officer asked him why his car was in the field, and Frank said that he was driving down the road and his car hit “something.” The officer noticed that Frank’s eyes were glassy, his speech was slurred, and his breath had a strong odor of alcohol. When Frank exited the car at the officer’s direction, he could not stand without holding onto the car. Frank refused the officer’s request that he take a breath test to determine the percentage of alcohol in his blood. An ambulance arrived, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead.
The officer arrested Frank and took him to the police station. The officer then appeared before a judge who, based upon the above facts, issued an order for a chemical test of Frank’s blood. The blood test was administered and showed Frank’s blood alcohol level to be substantially above the legal limit for driving while intoxicated.
Frank was indicted for the crime of manslaughter in the second degree.

Congratulations Ngozi Osuji!
I would like to thank you so much for the opportunity to be selected as the winner of this scholarship. I am deeply honored and extremely grateful to receive this $1,000. With this scholarship money I will use it to help pay for my books and also make a payment on the interest for my loans. It is hard for many to afford to attend law school because of the looming debt that will always be over their shoulders. But thanks to your kindness I am able to breathe a sigh of relief. Every bit helps to ease the financial pains of attending law school, and that is why I am so excited to receive this scholarship. In the mist of beginning my Winter Quarter at the University of Chicago Law School, it was a breath of fresh area to walk out of Torts and receive this congratulatory scholarship email. Thank you once again and God bless you all!
It’s truly an honor to receive this scholarship! Thank you so much for your consideration. This scholarship will definitely assist in my law school tuition and books! #LAWOFFICESOFRANDYCOLLINS #Scholarship #Givingback Thanks again!!
